Title: Out of the Blue, I’m Swept Away
Commissioner: Vladislav Šćepanović
Curator: Svetlana Racanović
Exhibitor: Siniša Radulović
A multimedia spatial installation that combines sculpture, video, and sound in an exploration of personal and collective experience, social dynamics, and spaces of imagination. The installation develops through three interwoven elements: a floor structure based on the artist’s personal living space, large-scale video projections, and an immersive soundscape. What begins as an intimate reflection – the transformation of the artist’s living space into a complex modular structure inhabited by miniature figures – gradually evolves into a meditation on the collective. Moving from the centre outward, the figures multiply, shifting the focus from the familial to the social, from individual experience to questions of coexistence and belonging.
Video projections on the walls reveal hints of human presence, touches, movements, and warmth, establishing a delicate counterpoint to the floor installation. These images, monumental in scale yet intensely intimate, evoke a sense of tenderness and connection, reminding us of the transience of every moment. The soundscape, in which the rustling of wind and the depths of the ocean intertwine, envelops the audience in an atmosphere that is both immersive and introspective.
“Out of the Blue, I’m Swept Away” invites visitors to walk through spaces where the private meets the public, and absence opens up space for possibility. Engaging all the senses, the work creates a space of reflection and transformation in which the audience is invited to participate in a layered meditation on presence and vulnerability, and to imagine new beginnings on the fragile edges of our shared existence.
