The multi-modal installation transforms the Pavilion into a spectral dragon ship, navigating existential waters with magic sails woven from stories. Collaborating with artists Kholod Hawash and composer Tze Yeung Ho, Lam crafts a richly layered exploration of displacement and connection, intertwining Cantonese myth, Baroque melodies, and embroidered motifs. Through the allegory of Lo Ting, a half-fish, half-man creature yearning for a transformed home, “The Altersea Opera” plumbs the depths of human longing and resilience, inviting audiences to sail beyond the known horizon of imagination.
