The allusion to Plato’s cave calls forth not only each of us, personally to re-think our relation to truth, but also it calls forth our culture, our civilization, as well as our architectural profession. Are we not, as architects, prisoners to ideas and values which are just a shadow of the truth? How should the architect respond to the trend of designing contemporary Plato’s caves? Should she help in the further imprisonment of the captives?

Symbolically, a piece of the whole is being framed by an archetypal shape of home, with an ideologically resolute outer surface, and a soft, structured micro-changeable content. This shelter’s rigidity literally renders the necessity for protection within a certain territory, and sets up delimitations in presence. Contrary to individual barriers, the etheric structure acknowledges the freedom of movement and administers the process of entropy, aiming towards randomized togetherness.
