This year’s Omani pavilion takes viewers on a chronological journey, unravelling the intricate tapestry of Oman’s past as a meeting point for diverse ethnicities.
Titled “Malath-Haven,” the exhibition draws inspiration from Oman’s core, symbolizing a sanctuary for sailors, merchants, and immigrants throughout history. Similar to Oman’s historical role in providing refuge to travellers from distant lands, “Malath” encourages visitors to embark on a sensory and artistic voyage.
The central theme of “Malath” is expressed through a diverse range of artistic mediums, including a culinary journey. Food serves as a powerful symbol of unity, emphasizing how family recipes encapsulate the essence of one’s cultural roots.
