The exhibition centres on Punjab – a historic region divided between India and Pakistan following the 1947 Partition – as a fractured yet resilient cultural landscape. Through this body of work, Faiza Butt explores how history, spirituality, textiles, and women’s voices converge within Punjab’s living heritage, both celebrating and bringing renewed critical attention to its cultural legacy for a global audience.

Butt is one of Pakistan’s leading contemporary artists, and the exhibition marks the country’s second participation at the International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, following its inaugural National Pavilion in 2019. Presented at Ex Farmacia Solveni in Dorsoduro, the pavilion situates Pakistan’s cultural presence within one of Venice’s most prominent exhibition corridors.
