On view in two complementary venues, the exhibition “Unfinished Conversations on the Weight of Absence” features pieces by artists Belu-Simion Făinaru, Dan Mihălțianu and Miklós Onucsán whose careers span more than forty years. The three propose some art installations from the 1980s and 1990s, readapted in scale to dialogue with the architecture of the Romanian Pavilion. These post-conceptual artworks, which were already subjected to many transformations over their exhibition history, acquire a totally new meaning in relation with the Venetian context. They are critically recalibrated to address the growing appeal of political neoliberal, nationalist and populist forces.
