The project presents a new body of work exploring the physical and poetic relationships between art, sound, and science.

Since the 1990s, Francis has developed an abstract painting practice that evokes auditory sensations through visual representation, creating a synesthetic experience. The title “Sea of Sound” refers to the vast ocean of frequencies surrounding us and the capacity to transform them into emotional personal experiences.

The presentation unfolds across two rooms. The entrance features a moving image projection titled “Listening Field” which introduces the artist’s visual world. The second room contains a selection of previously unseen large-scale oil paintings on canvas and aluminium. The project’s visual identity superimposes the three towers of Mount Titano over one of the artist’s paintings, symbolising acoustic refuges and waves of creativity.
