Ignasi Aballí represents Spain at the 59th Venice Biennale. In this exhibition, the artist concentrates on many of those themes that have accompanied his work during his career: time and its imprint, the duplicity of naming and showing, absence and disappearance, the idea of wasting, error and correction or the limits of work material.
“Correction” could be defined as a challenge, daring the viewer’s attention and perception. The exhibition continues the artist’s research and previous experimentations, in which he questions the exhibition space, be it by the walls of the museum being painted in different whites or imaginary walls being traced to divide the spaces a priori, indivisible.
