Ukraine 2017

Curated by Dallas Contemporary, this year the Ukraine Pavilion at the Venice Biennale is represented by the photographer Boris Mikhailov, featuring his new project titled “Parliament (2014-2016)”, focussed on the interplay between analogue and digital photography. In this works the artist is showing photographs of television footage of parliamentary debates. All the images, decomposed present photographs alluding to cyberbalkanization and reflect on the global political climate and the distraction of reality through media.
