OGR, Turin opens a new collective exhibition curated by Jessica Stockholder
Today, OGR – Officine Grandi Riparazioni reopens its doors with the new site-specific commission Cut a rug a round square, developed by the American artist Jessica Stockholder.
For the occasion, she curated a collective exhibition featuring artworks selected from two important collections, the Collection of Contemporary Art “la Caixa” of Barcelona, and that of the CRT Foundation for Modern and Contemporary Art, whose works are on permanent loan to the Turin museums Gam – Gallery of Modern Art and Castello di Rivoli, Museum of Contemporary Art.
Stockholder conceived an exhibition path exploring the boundaries between genres and stressing the limits of painting. She has devoted her entire creative practice to the investigation of this medium and its contamination with other techniques, usually working with complex installations made of different materials and colours.
Cut a rug a round square will feature pieces by iconic artists, such as Vito Acconci, Monica Bonvicini, Mona Hatoum, Tracey Emin, Edward Ruscha, Jessica Stockholder herself, and more.
