After months of lockdown, Italian museums are ready to reopen

May 28, 2020

Starting May 18th, 2020 many Italian museums started to reopening their doors to the public, currently to the Italian visitors only as the European frontiers are expected to reopen on June 3, 2020.

Earlier last week, Culture Minister Dario Franceschini announced a €55bn lifeline from the government including emergency support for state museums, arts organisations and cultural businesses.  Given the economy funds, the museums are reopening following the standard security measures—including online ticket reservation, social distancing, thermo-scanner checks and obligatory hand washing.
