Alessandro Rabottini Appointed New Artistic Director of miart

Alessandro Rabottini was appointed the new Artistic Director of miart , the international exhibition of modern and contemporary art in Milan. By deputy De Bellis, who with the edition of miart 2016 ended his career with the fair to fly in America, Rabottini takes the lead of the event in a direction of continuity with the work done in the last four editions from miart team.

Alessandro Rabottini is an art critic and curator based in London and Milan, currently acting as Deputy Director of miart, International Fair of Modern and Contemporary Art. From 2013 to 2015 he served as Curator at Large at the Madre Museum in Naples, where he organised retrospective exhibitions of Ettore Spalletti, Walid Raad and Pádraig Timoney. In his previous capacity as Chief Curator at GAMeC – Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea of Bergamo, Rabottini curated solo exhibitions of Sterling Ruby, Latifa Echakhch, Victor Man, Jordan Wolfson, Robert Overby, Pietro Roccasalva, Tim Rollins & K.O.S., David Maljkovic, and Giuseppe Gabellone amongst others. As an independent curator he has organised exhibitions of Danh Vo, Elad Lassry, Gianfranco Baruchello, John Latham, and Patrizio Di Massimo for Italian and international institutions, including the Triennale di Milano, the GAM Galleria d’Arte Moderna of Turin, Villa Medici/Accademia di Francia in Rome, the Museum für Gegenwartskunst in Basel, the Centre d’Art Contemporain of Geneva, the PAC – Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea in Milan, the Bergen Kunsthall, and Le Consortium in Djion.
