Alserkal Art Week 2025

Alserkal Avenue, the region’s leading cultural district, unveils its latest public programme, “A Wild Stitch”, during Alserkal Art Week, taking place in Dubai from April 13 to 20, 2025. The initiative responds to contemporary realities, fostering critical dialogue through exhibitions, installations, talks, and performances that embrace multiplicity and resist fixed narratives.

Key highlights include Vanishing Points, a major solo exhibition by Imran Qureshi at Concrete, curated by Nada Raza, which reimagines Indo-Persian miniature traditions through mixed media. Public art commissions curated by Fatoş Üstek, under the theme Between a Beach and Slope, feature works by Nujoom Alghanem and Shilpa Gupta exploring identity and belonging in evolving landscapes. Stephanie Bailey curates Majlis Talks, spotlighting Crit Club by Cem A., a provocative debate performance confronting speculative and unresolved positions within the art world.

Sixteen gallery exhibitions across the Avenue engage themes of displacement, memory, resilience, and transformation, featuring artists from South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. Guest exhibitions include Maydan: A Living Agora, curated by Behrang Samadzadegan, and Resonant Turns, a solo by Hadieh Shafie, both exploring the dynamics of space, language, and collective identity.

The programme also launches a multi-year partnership with Art Dubai, beginning with Existence-emitting Movements by Héctor Zamora—a site-specific performance-installation that explores ritual and materiality through terracotta. Alserkal Art Week continues to serve as a platform for cutting-edge artistic experimentation and regional cultural production.
