Amsterdam Art Weekend 2015
This year’s Amsterdam Art Weekend will take place from 26 – 29 November 2015, coinciding with RijksakademieOPEN. For one long weekend, the heart of contemporary art beats in the Dutch capital. In an extensive program of over 90 exhibitions, performances, screenings and debates more than 50 participants showcase the newest developments in contemporary art. The Weekend gives the opportunity to be the first to see tomorrow’s artistic talent unfold at Amsterdam’s cutting edge contemporary art venues.
Now in its fourth edition, Amsterdam Art Weekend has already established itself as one of the leading events for contemporary art in the Netherlands. Attracting art enthusiasts, professionals and collectors from all over the world, the Weekend uniquely showcases Amsterdam’s strength in contemporary art and aspiring talent. Art professionals and enthusiasts alike descend upon the capital as the Weekend’s carefully curated program brings together Amsterdam’s diverse network of galleries, project spaces, art institutions and residency programs. Within the program, which revolves around the four pillars of Exhibitions, Performances, Conversations and Screenings, diversity, quality and current urgency is key. Including both well-known and established art galleries as well as young, experimental spaces, the Weekend has something to offer for every taste and level of engagement.
Specially designed programs are tailor made to make the program accessible for a diverse range of visitors. Next to the public program, the extensive Professionals program gives national and international art professionals many opportunities to discover new talents as well as to build on their network.
Amsterdam Art devotes itself all year round to promoting and strengthening this leading position Amsterdam occupies and promoting the best in contemporary art the city has to offer. This goal culminates in the Amsterdam Art Weekend, when the art world turns its focus onto the richness and innovative nature of the Amsterdam creative scene.
