The extensive project on Anthropocene by artist Armin Linke arrives in Madrid opened at The Center for Contemporary Creation Matadero Madrid, on view through March 20, 2021.

The project is the result of an ongoing collaboration between the artist and Fundació Sorigué and in recent years has been already presented in many European cultural institutions.
Linke’s creative research documents the effects of globalization on different communities around the world: contemporary society is based on a massive profusion of data, but the production of these technological assets implies enormous exploitation of natural resources.

In this way, Linke offers a new perspective on the pressing issue of climate change.
The exhibition revolves around the video “Blind Sensorium” documenting years of researches by Linke and his team. They interviewed scientists, politicians, and activists and gained access to laboratories, data centres, the negotiation rooms of the United Nations, sites of resource extraction, and critical locations for the Earth’s ecosystems. So, they bring to light the intricate weave of relations between politics, science, economics, finance, and culture, connected to the topic of climate change and natural exploitation.
