Artissima 2019 Press Conference at Combo, Turin

The press conference for the 26th edition of Artissima took place yesterday at what is soon to be COMBO, the multifunctional hostel which is to open by the end of the year on Corso Regina Margherita in an ex-firestation.

Artissima yesterday announced its programme for its 26th edition in Turin (from the 31st October until 3rd November 2019 at the Oval Lingotto). With 208 galleries from 43 different countries and three curated sections headed by an illustrious board of international curators and museum directors, Artissima is set to re-confirm itself as an international favourite for curators, directors of art institutions and foundations, as well as the patrons of museums from all over the world who are involved in various ways in its programme.

The theme for Artissima’s 26th edition is the duality of desire/censorship. The objective is to stimulate timely and varied reflections on the power of the image: contemporary ambitions and utopias, the impulses that shape our times, and the perspectives and narratives that cross them.

For the third consecutive year, Artissima is directed by Ilaria Bonacossa, whose appointment as director has been recently reconfirmed by the board of directors of Fondazione Torino Musei for the next two years (until 2021)
