Artissima 2020 changes shape due to the uncertain global scenario

Today, Director of Artissima Ilaria Bonacossa has announced that the international art fair won’t open its doors as planned, from November 5 – 8, 2020 at the OVAL. Due to the uncertain global situation related to the pandemic, the 27th edition of the fair will open in an uncanonical guise to explore new ways to enjoy art in Turin. The decision came after a careful analysis of the last developments in the European and international scenario.

In place of the usual event, a new physical and digital programme was planned by Artissima’s organisation along with the Fondazione Torino Musei, to occur in the same days.

In this way, the fair will remain a unique occasion for the city and international observers to approach and discover contemporary art. Following the tradition of Artissima, the 2020 fair will be also the chance to present innovative projects: this is the case of the new digital cross-media platform ARTISSIMA XYZ, that will host the fair’s three curated sections Present Future (curated by Ilaria Gianni and Fernanda Brenner), Back to the Future (curated by Lorenzo Giusti and Mouna Mekouar) e Disegni. (curated by Letizia Ragaglia and Bettina Steinbrügge). The immersive digital experience will be online from November 3 – December 9, 2020.
