Artist Niamh O’Malley will represent Ireland at the next Venice Art Biennale in 2022, with an exhibition project titled “Gather”, presented by the Curatorial Team Temple Bar Gallery + Studios. The exhibition in the Irish pavilion will continue O’Malley’s research initiated in her workspace at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios (TBG+S), Dublin, where she works with stone, steel, wood and glass.

The project will be enriched by a series of contributions during the period of presentation and travelling to Venice, including a series of conversation between O’Malley and other artists and a documentary film presenting a portrait of her. Concurrently with the opening of the Biennale, TBG+S will release an artist’s book, complementary to the pavilion’s exhibition. Ireland at Venice 2022 will continue as a National Tour curated as a multi-venue exhibition and public engagement programme during 2023.
