Baltic Artists’ Awards 2017 Announced

Words by Elena Scarpa
November 14, 2016

The award is the only one worldwide to be judged by artists. The selected artists will each be awarded a 12-week exhibition at Baltic, opening on 30 June 2017, £25,000 to create new work and a £5,000 fee.

The idea of the award is to give an international point of view on some of the most emerging contemporart artists. The judges work with different media and are therefore able to provide a special insight into the world.

This year’s jury members are Monica Bonvicini, Mike Nelson, Pedro Cabrita Reis, Lorna Simpson.
