Banksy new work opposite the French Embassy in Knightsbridge

Banky‘s new work appeared on Monday on a wall opposite the French Embassy building in Knightsbridge, London.

The work recalls the musical Les Miserables and it depicts a young girl breathing gas fumes which are leaking from a can.

It’s the artist’s first interactive work and it criticizes the forceful evacuation of the migrants from the Calais’ camp at the beginning of January 2016. In addition to the drawing, people passing by will be able to scan a QR code which  links to a video shot when the migrants were forcefully evicted from Calais.

This work in London follows other works Banksy has made in Calais in 2015, including the drawing of Apple’s late founder Steve Jobs.
