Brussels Art Week 2025

This September marks the launch of the first Brussels Art Week, a citywide initiative organised by RendezVous and taking place from 4 to 7 September 2025. The programme brings together galleries, institutions, artist-run spaces and studios, creating a shared platform that highlights Brussels’ contemporary art scene both locally and internationally.

Following a soft launch in 2024, the event now unfolds across three districts—Downtown, Uptown and Midtown—offering visitors new perspectives on the city’s artistic landscape. At the centre of the week is the Salon de RendezVous, located at Rue de la Régence 67. Conceived by British artist Zoe Williams, the space functions as both installation and social setting, hosting a daily programme of talks, performances and listening sessions.

Over three days, synchronised openings and events will take place throughout the city. The programme includes exhibitions at leading galleries such as Xavier Hufkens, Gladstone, Almine Rech, Mendes Wood DM, Galerie Christophe Gaillard, Nino Mier, Nathalie Obadia and Harlan Levey Projects. Highlights range from Charline von Heyl’s new abstract works to Julien Creuzet’s poetic installations exploring themes of identity and diaspora.

Institutions add further depth to the programme. Fondation CAB presents Super Conceptual Pop, while Fondation Boghossian hosts Timeless Gazes: From Pharaohs to the Present Day, tracing connections between Egyptian antiquity and contemporary African art. WIELS focuses on Magical Realism, and La Loge features Inas Halabi’s exhibition The Right of Return.

Alongside these, ten artist-run initiatives provide a view into Brussels’ grassroots scene. Projects include CCINQ’s group show GAY SUMMER, The Green Corridor’s Situated Interventions reflecting on thirteen years of practice, and Germaine Kruip’s first Belgian solo exhibition at MINERVE.

Together, these diverse contributions underline Brussels’ role as a dynamic hub for contemporary art, sustained by a closely connected network of artists, galleries, institutions and collectors. Brussels Art Week not only celebrates this richness but also positions the city as an active site of international artistic exchange.
