Fondazione Merz to take over Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa, Palermo for 3 years

The Municipality of Palermo and Fondazione Merz presented on May 25, during a press conference held at the Contemporary Arts Area at the Zisa cultural sites, the agreement with which Palazzo delle Aquile entrusts the exhibition spaces to the Turin cultural institution for the realization of a new project for the contemporary arts center in Palermo, called “ZACentrale” 2021 – 2023.

The “ZACentrale” project will take place over three years at the ZAC space and will be articulated with various interdisciplinary activities that will include: exhibitions, concerts, theater and dance performances, training activities at the most different levels; meetings, debates, conferences to be held also in partnership with the other realities of the Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa, as well as documentary interventions, creative incubator actions and the creation of a specialized library dedicated to contemporary art for which a donation of 300 volumes is foreseen by the Foundation. The partners, the artists and the cost plan are fully borne by the Merz Foundation, without any financial burden for the Municipal Administration.
