GranPalazzo Inaugurates its 2nd Edition
The exceptional venue of Palazzo Rospigliosi in Zagarolo, a small town located in the Roman countryside, will be the setting of GRANPALAZZO 2016 on May 28 and 29, 2016.
GRANPALAZZO 2016 is an exclusive exhibition-event, taking place outside the usual contemporary art contexts, intended to encourage an authentic dialogue between artists, the audience and art professionals, which wishes to emphasize the quality of the artistic discourse in the contemporary sphere.
During GRANPALAZZO 2016 the audience will be able to view, in an intimate and relaxed atmosphere, the artworks of 27 artists coming from Perù, Italy, Belgium, France, Portugal, Pakistan, Mexico, Canada, Poland, The Netherlands, Switzerland, the UK and the USA, supported by 27 of the most dynamic and interesting galleries coming from the International art scene.
The project involves artists supported by galleries whose practices stand out in terms of high-level curatorship, effective scouting, and the creation of an independent market in spite of the moment’s trends.
Each room of the challenging spaces of Palazzo Rospigliosi will bring in relation the works of two or more artists, some of them expressly realized for the building’s suggestive premises, in a carefully well-defined setting. Built during the 16th century by the Colonna family – protagonist of Reinassance and Baroque Rome – and afterwards purchased by the Rospigliosi Pallavicini family, Palazzo Rospigliosi houses a splendid and unique iconographical cycle, made of frescoes and grotesques in an excellent state of preservation.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a collateral program including special projects and performances which will take place inside Palazzo Rospigliosi and in the town of Zagarolo.
GRANPALAZZO is a project by Paola Capata, Delfo Durante, Ilaria Gianni, Federica Schiavo.
GRANPALAZZO 2016 is realized in collaboration with the prestigious Institution of Palazzo Rospigliosi.
