Haroon Mirza wins the Calder Prize

Haroon Mirza has been awarded the Calder Prize, the biennial award given to artists whose work has been influenced by American sculptor Alexander Calder.

The Prize is awarded by the Calder Foundation and the New York-based Scone Foundation, in addition to the $50,000  cash prize Mirza will also undertake a residency at the Atelier Calder, in Saché, central France.

Mirza is known for his sculptural and sound work, and in particular his use of both analogue and digital technologies to create immersive installations and kinetic sculptures.
