Lotus L. Kang, Bvlgari Pavilion

Bvlgari inaugurates its role as Exclusive Partner of the International Art Exhibition of the La Biennale di Venezia until 2030, reaffirming its relationship with art and its commitment to creativity as an expression of freedom, bringing together dialogue between cultures, innovation, and beauty. In this context, Bvlgari presents the work of Canadian artist Lotus L. Kang in its Pavilion at Spazio Esedra in the Giardini della Biennale.

At the Bvlgari Pavilion, Kang presents a new site-responsive installation created for the 61st International Art Exhibition (9 May – 22 November 2026). Selected as the inaugural artist for the pavilion, she develops a work that continues her exploration of time as multiple, non-linear, and contingent.

Known for her complex, layered environments that merge organic, structural, and metabolic languages, Kang works across sculpture, photography, and installation. Her practice often employs unstable and responsive materials—such as light-sensitive photographic film and sediment-like sculptural forms—that remain open to change, resisting fixity and resolution.

In this new project, the installation unfolds as a shifting environment, where forms appear suspended in states of transition. Through a sensitive engagement with space and process, Kang gives poetic shape to themes of inheritance, memory, impermanence, and translation, while expanding her ongoing investigation into “becoming” as an open-ended condition.

The presentation forms a central moment in Bvlgari’s partnership with the Biennale, marking the beginning of a collaboration that continues across multiple editions through 2030.
