Mark Bradford: Process Collettivo

In 2017, Mark Bradford represented the United States at the 57th Venice Biennale with ‘Tomorrow Is Another Day’, an acclaimed solo exhibition in which the artist examined the historical roots of American racism. Extending his socially committed practice beyond the Biennale walls, Bradford initiated a partnership with Rio Terà dei Pensieri, an Italian nonprofit that supports skill-based training and reintegration for inmates of Venice prisons.

To celebrate the culmination of the eight-year partnership between Mark Bradford and non-profit Rio Terà dei Pensieri, Hauser & Wirth Publishers launch a new book and fundraising limited edition work by the renowned American artist at a bookstore in the city. Located at Campo San Maurizio from 13 April through 5 May, proceeds from sales at the bookstore will support Rio Terà, the cooperative that creates work opportunities with and for people currently and recently incarcerated in two prisons in Venice.
