MoMA to Stage the First U.S. Survey of Photographer Stephen Shore’s Work
The Museum of Modern Art, New York has announced a major survey dedicated to the entire career in photography of Stephen Shore. Inaugurating on November 19, 2017, and running until spring 2018, the exhibition spans from the very beginning of the artist’s career, when he was just 14 years old, to the hundreds of photographic works that made him one of the most renowned photographer ever. This is the first New York survey of the photographer’s work in 10 years: it will be an opportunity to explore the artist entire oeuvre in the context of his time.
Stephen Shore (American, b. 1947) is well-known for his images of simple scenes and everyday objects in the United States, and for his pioneering use of color in art photography. In 2010, Shore received an Honorary Fellowship from The Royal Photographic Society.
