My Art Guide Milan 2018 Editorial Committee

My Art Guide Milan is a paper and digital issue dedicated to the art and design weeks in Milan starting with miart art fair and ending with Salone del Mobile, running from April 12th to 22nd, also available online and on iOS app.

This edition has been developed thanks to an incredible editorial committee formed by Alessandro Rabottini (Artistic Director of miart), Pia Capelli (Contemporary Art Writer) and Paola Nicolin (Editor at Large, Domus).
The committee has been working to select the best and most interesting art spaces and exhibitions in town as well as the coolest restaurants and hotels.

Alessandro Rabottini is the Artistic Director of miart since 2017, a curator and art critic. He was Chief Curator of GAMeC Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Bergamo from 2001 to 2012, and Curator at Large at MADRE Donnaregina Museum of Contemporary Art in Naples from 2012 to 2015, institutions for which he has curated solo shows of international artists like Mircea Cantor, Keren Cytter, Latifa Echakhch, Giuseppe Gabellone, David Maljkovic, Victor Man, Robert Overby, Walid Raad, Pietro Roccasalva, Tim Rollins & K.O.S, Sterling Ruby, Padraig Timoney, Ettore Spalletti, Tris Vonna-Michell and Jordan Wolfson.
As an independent curator he has organized solo shows by John Armleder, Gianfranco Baruchello, Elad Lassry, John Latham, Guillaume Leblon, Adrian Paci and Danh Vo, and has collaborated with public institutions like the Triennale and PAC in Milan, Accademia di Francia – Villa Medici in Rome, GAM Civic Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art of Turin, Museum für Gegenwartskunst in Basel, Centre d’Art Contemporain in Geneva, Bergen Kunsthall, Le Consortium in Dijon, FRAC Champagne Ardenne in Reims and kestnergesellschaft in Hannover.
His writings have appeared in magazines like Flash Art, Frieze, Kaleidoscope, MAP Magazine, Modern Painters and Mousse.
He is a member of IKT – International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art.

Pia Capelli born and bred in Milan, is a contemporary art writer and compulsive art traveller. She is Il Sole 24 Ore’s Art Market specialist for the weekend supplement La Domenica, writes the Scene & Herd column for Artforum, and covers the global art scene for Elle and other international publications. After Classical Studies, Pia graduated in Philosophy and Aesthetics at Università degli Studi di Milano, before completing her education at the Courtauld Institute in London. On the non-writing side, Pia is an independent art consultant and acts as a liaison between international artists’ estates, galleries and museums.

Paola Nicolin is an Art historian and Curator and she is founding director of the art and educational center the classroom (theclassroom.it) curating for private and public institutions educational programs, exhibition and talks projects with artists like Adelita Husni-Bey, Diego Perrone, Piero Golia, Masbedo, Hilario Isola, Seb Patane. Having a PhD in Theory and History of Arts, she teaches History of Contemporary Art at the Bocconi University and is Artforum contributor editor since 2009. Art editor of Abitare (2006-11), she has been responsible for the program of exhibitions of the Municipality of Milan (2011-13) working on solo of Adrian Paci, Alberto Garutti and collective surveys of Italian Art. Member of the scientific committee of Fondazione Carriero, lives and works in Milan.
