Nika Autor Will Represtent Slovenia at The Venice 57th Biennale

The artist Nika Autor has been invited to represent the Slovenia Pavillion at the 57th Venice Biennale. The exhibition will be curated by Andreja Hribernik, director of Slovenia’s Koroška Gallery of Fine Arts. 

Autor’s works are focussed on the constant research of the invisibilities/ inaudibilities, along on the  persistent production of today’s non-stop representations which are shown up in the media world, from the politic and economic ground to the social one. Her works have been exposed in different galleries and festivals: “Film d’actualites – l’actu est a nous”, Jeu de Paume, Paris; “Between Worlds II”, Gallery Miroslav Kraljevič, Zagreb; “U3”, 7th Triennial of Contemporary Art in Ljubljana; “Shifts in Time: Performing the Chronic”, Mumok, Vienna; “Alternative film/video”, “Festival Novog Filma i Videa”, Beograd, Serbia.

She founded the collective Newsreel Front / Obzorniška Fronta.

Nika Autor finished her studies in Fine Arts in Lubjana and nowadays is currently attending her PhD in Practice at Academy of Fine Arts  in Vienna.
