Osservatorio: a New Space devoted to Photography by Fondazione Prada

Fondazione Prada is going to inaugurates its new space devoted to photography: Osservatorio.
The new exhibition centre, due to open on December 21st 2016,  is located in the spaces of Galleria Vittoria Emanuele II in Milan, on the top floor of the existing Prada brand shop.

Osservatorio will be a place of exploration of the trends and expressions contemporary photography, the evolution of the medium and its connections with other disciplines and creative realities. At a time when photography is an integral part of global digital communication flow, Fondazione Prada, through the Observatory activity, questions about what are the cultural and social implications of current photographic production and its reception.

Osservatorio exhibition program is going to inaugurates with the exhibition “Give me Yesterday”, curated by Francesco Zanot, which will run from December 21st to May 12th 2017. The show includes 14 Italian and International artists (Melanie Bonajo, Kenta Cobayashi, Tomé Duarte, Irene Fenara, Lebohang Kganye, Vendula Knopova, Leigh Ledare, Wen Ling, Ryan McGinley, Izumi Miyazaki, Joanna Piotrowska, Greg Reynolds, Antonio Rovaldi, Maurice van Es).
The path of the show is developed as a photography journey, focusing on the personal experience of each artist: the diary becomes a medium through which showcasing the daily life.
