Panorama Monferrato

Following Procida, Monopoli, and L’Aquila, Italics brings the fourth edition of Panorama to the Monferrato region of Piedmont. Since 2021, this annual, region-wide exhibition has connected architecture, art, and landscape with local communities.

From 4 to 8 September 2024, Panorama Monferrato unfolds across vineyards, castles, and churches in the villages of Camagna, Vignale, Montemagno, and Castagnole. Curated by Carlo Falciani, the exhibition creates a unique narrative that blends ancient, modern, and contemporary elements, guiding visitors through this extraordinary part of Italy.

Located between Alessandria, Asti, and the Ligurian Apennines, the Monferrato region is a UNESCO-recognised cultural landscape. It invites slow exploration with artistic itineraries ranging from Romanesque to contemporary, featuring site-specific installations and public art in a region-wide open-air museum.

Panorama Monferrato involves 62 Italics galleries and showcases contemporary works, including many site-specific pieces alongside 20th-century art and Renaissance masterpieces. The exhibition draws inspiration from Stefano Guazzo’s La civil conversazione (1574), a text that influenced European thought in the 16th and 17th centuries.
