Founded by art historian RoseLee Goldberg, Performa is the only live performance biennial to take place in New York City, dedicated to exploring the critical role of live performance in twentieth-century art history and encouraging new directions in performance art.

The Performa Biennal 2021 will take place from 12th October to 31st October and the program will focus on six artists living and working in New York: Kevin Beasley, Ericka Beckman, Sara Cwynar, Danielle Dean, Madeline Hollander, Andrés Jaque (Office for Political Innovation), Tschabalala Self and Shikeith.
Each artist has focused their artistic research on exploring the city, its communities, and how it has been transformed after the severe pandemic situation.

From 12th Oct to 31st Oct 2021
The live performances will be free and also streamed.
