Pirelli HangarBicocca is dedicating a major solo exhibition to the Italian, Argentinian-born artist Lucio Fontana (1899- 1968), opening later on September.
Curated by Marina Pugliese, Barbara Ferriani, and Vicente Todolí, the show is organized in collaboration with Fondazione Lucio Fontana and is bringing together for the first time nine of Lucio Fontana’s Ambienti spaziali, to occupy the gallery’s 5,000-square-metre space.
Founder of Spatialism, Fontana is one of the most influential Italian artists of the mid-twentieth century and dedicated his entire career to investigating the concepts of space, light, the void and the cosmos.
