Prospect New Orleans will be back in November with its 4th edition with the title: “The Lotus in Spite of the Swamp”.
Prospect is a triennial presenting work from local, national and international artists across the city of New Orleans. Initiated by curator Dan Cameron, and now staged under the artistic direction of Trevor Schoonmaker, the triennial invites contemporary artists from around the globe to exhibit at venues that include major cultural institutions, as well as non-arts venues, and public spaces.

The title is inspired by the lotus plant: a perennial taking roots in the fetid but nutrient-rich mud of swamps. Just like the lotus in the swamp, culture grows in the wetland of the Mississippi and in New Orleans..
