Palazzo Strozzi will host a major exhibition of American artist Jeff Koons‘ most famous works from the mid-70s to the present day, which have made him one of the most controversial and admired artists on the contemporary art scene.

Arturo Galansino and Joachim Pissarro curated the exhibition by continuously dialoguing with the artist, collecting his artworks from all the major collectors and museums. “Shine” explores the concept of ambiguity between being and seeming, truth, and emotion, through the reflection the viewer may have of himself when looking at Koons’ works.

The artist has captured the contemporary art scene thanks to his ability to blend art history with current themes and illusions that are common to the capitalist world around us.
