Its latest edition, which closed last week, was planned to coincide with the preview days of the much anticipated return of the Biennale Arte after a three-year hiatus. The Naval Officer’s Club, just around the corner from the Arsenale entrance to the Biennale is a unique venue infused with history and ideally situated during the preview days of the biennale. VMP’s 2022’s programme included a record number of partner events, talks and artistic happenings including the critically acclaimed exhibition “De Rerum Natura” curated by Mara Sartore.

Mara Sartore, founder of Lightbox, publisher of My Art Guides and curator of “De Rerum Natura stated: “The Venice Meeting point was created in 2015 as a platform to foster dialogue in contemporary art, the main purpose was to make people meet and talk about the present and the future of art. Never more so than this year, after two year of pandemic, people felt the need to meet, to talk in person, to have the chance to spend time together. Maybe for this reason alone the VMP 2022 was the most successful edition ever. We had the incredible chance to spend six days talking to several remarkable artists, meeting many friends and representatives of institutions from all over the world. Talking about art and thinking about our present, posing questions about the future of the world and the artist’s role in this future.
De Rerum Natura“, interpreting the words of the latin poet Lucretius, has had the incredible role of putting at the centre of the space (the Naval Officer’s Club) powerful artworks exploring the fundamental relation between human beings and nature. I believe that if we could all enhance our love and give the proper respect that our planet requires, we would be able to truly create a better and welcoming world for everyone. This exhibition has been conceived to be travelling to another destination in the coming months, details of this will be announced very soon.”
