The 2020 edition of viennacontemporary art fair runs 24 – 27 September 2020 at Marx Halle Vienna.

The fair welcomes 65 participating galleries from 16 countries presenting strong positions from their programs and artists. This year, the fair features special shows at the fair: “The ZONE1” exhibition format curated by Cathrin Mayer which exclusively presents artists under 40 who live, work, or study in Vienna. In the pointed work presentation “Explorations”, Elisa R. Linn & Lennart Wolff bring together artistic positions that were created between 1945 and 1980. An exciting selection of “Video works” was put together by Jen Kratochvil and will be shown at the fair.

The Talks program Central and Eastern European ART: Beyond Social Utopia was put together by Jelena Petrović, the ArtTech Talks series by curator Francesca Gavin.

The fair also includes a digital extension called  “vc_on”. The platform aims to put a spotlight on Austrian, Central, Southeastern, and Eastern European art, addressing new audiences and young collectors, connecting galleries with art lovers, and fostering sustainable relationships.

viennacontemporary is the largest and most relevant art fair in the region with contemporary art from Austria and Eastern Europe with a strong international reach and attention to emerging markets. The fair hosts the largest concentration of CEE galleries in the world, connecting East and West and their various audiences and art scenes. Each year numerous special presentations and an extensive complimentary program, including guided tours and talks, offer intriguing discussions with artists and collectors and, thus, guarantee an enriching experience for all art lovers.

The fair is implementing all health safety regulations required by the Federal Government in reason of Covid-19 pandemic.
