Due to the context that Mexico is facing amidst the global pandemic, Zona Maco has decided to hold its next edition on February 9 – 13, 2022.

Committed to prioritize the safety and well-being of galleries and the public involved, and remaining hopeful that next year the fair can be held with enough certainty for it to be a successful event, Zona Maco is now working to held a special art week from April 27 to May 2, 2021. Aiming to continue the dissemination of art and its collecting in Mexico within the current context, the event will focus on the local scene, strengthening collaborations between galleries, artists, collectors, designers, professionals and the general public.

The fair invites all Mexican galleries to participate in ZⓈONAMACO Art Week with the proposal of an exhibition project, which can be presented in collaboration with other gallery/galleries or individually.

At the same time, ZⓈONAMACO PATIO will be launched as a program of art interventions in public spaces of Mexico City, aimed at participating galleries that wish to expand their presence in the city. With regards to the current situation, public space plays a key role in society by generating potential meeting points within everyday life. ZⓈONAMACO PATIO will present installations, photography, performances, sculptures and ephemeral pieces, creating links with specialized and broader audiences. In this way, movement will be encouraged throughout specific areas of the city such as Condesa, Juarez, Polanco, Roma and San Miguel Chapultepec, with the intention of creating routes that give visibility to their artistic and design offers, along with restaurants and other places of social interest. The fair organizes a series of itineraries for collectors and professionals supporting the reactivation and visibility of artists and their work.

The event will be presented in a digital format for audiences who are not able to attend. In addition, ZⓈONAMACO Online will continue as a virtual year-long program, featuring monthly public conversations.
