Abril Zales
Abril Zales is a contemporary art curator with a background in visual anthropology and a strong interest in embodiment practices, site-specific projects, and installation-based art. She is the founder and director of La Cresta, a research and experimentation laboratory dedicated to exhibition formats and contemporary art production in Monterrey.
Zales works as a curator and cultural project manager focused on expanded contemporary art practices. She holds a Master’s degree in Cultural Management from the University of Deusto in Bilbao and a BA in Visual and Media Arts from CEDIM in Monterrey. Her practice includes collaborations with independent initiatives and art projects across Mexico, France, and the Basque Country, and she has been actively involved in self-managed collectives and collaborative platforms.
