Ahn Chang Hong portrays the turbulent history of modern Korea based on the lives of anonymous individuals. Through the meticulous documentation of the modern era, Ahn reveals the various tragedies of Korean history, such as the Japanese colonial period, the rapid growth of capitalism and its negative impact on South Korea, as well as the discord of an unjust society; ultimately exploring the existential concerns of life and death in his practice.
