Akram Al Halabi

Born in Majdal-Shams, 1981 and lives in Wien

Akram Al Halabi was born in Majdal-Shams (Golan Heights) in 1981. From 1997 until 2000, he studied drawing and painting at Bait Al Fan, supervised by the artist Wael Tarabeh. In 2003, he participated in the summer academy of Darat Al Funun, supervised by Prof. Marwan Kassab Bashi, in Amman (Jordan). After studying at the Faculty of Fine Art Damascus (Syria), he finished his BA of Fine Art in 2005. Through the One World Scholarship of the Afro-Asian-Institute, he came to attend the Academy of Fine Art of Vienna in 2007, finishing his studies with distinction in 2012 with the class of Prof. Erwin Bohatsch. During this period, he also was an exchange student at the Academy of Fine Art Umea (Sweden). from 2015  till  2017 – he Was MA student at the Film Academy “Digital Art Compositing” Vienna.

He participated in sundry exhibitions has accompanied his Academic study of Art, such as: “New Future” exhibition in Museum di Palazzo Poggi, Bologna, Italy, in 2013. “IMAGETEXTE3” exhibition in gallery “Topographie de l’art”, Paris, France, in 2014. “Creating Common Good” exhibition in “Kunst Haus Wien, Museum Hundertwasser”, Vienna, in 2015. And  “Diaspora Now “ Contemporary Arts around the Homeland, in the Museum of Fine Arts Gifu, Japan. 2017.

In 2011 He received The first Award of “Kunstler am Werk,  Lenzinger wettbewerb” Academy of fine art Vienna, Austria.

Al Halabi’s work has been collected by many private collectors in EU and Middle East. In addition, The British museum collection, Department of the Middle East, London. And the “Kupferstichkabinett” collection, Vienna, Austria.

He is working and living in Wien, Austria.
