Ana Sofia Esteva
Ana Sofia Esteva, born in Mexico City in 2000, is a multidisciplinary artist who seeks to make the “almost nothing” visible. Through drawing, video, installation and objects, she reveals a language of what exists yet cannot be seen. She understands the “almost nothing” as that which is, or may be, on the verge of becoming imperceptible – that which ultimately forms the visible. The unnoticed holds things together: dust, breath, shadows, even the salt in food. She finds in everyday life, in places and in memory, those imperceptible points that give meaning to everything.
She recently graduated from the Fine Arts programme at the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Printmaking “La Esmeralda” (ENPEG). As part of her interests, she has curated projects at the Biblioteca de México and within the Red de Arte Mexicano, and has carried out interventions at the Torre de los Vientos and in ENPEG’s alternative space.
Ana Sofia Esteva lives and works in Mexico City.
