He has been the Director of Fondazione Palazzo Te since June 2018, after having held the position of President of the International Centre of Art and Culture of Palazzo Te from February 2016 until the moment of the transformation into the Foundation. He is associate professor at the Bocconi University Departement of Political and Social Sciences. He was one of the founders of the degree course in Economics for Arts and Culture at the Bocconi University and from 2004 to 2012 he was the director of the two-years degree and of the ASK research center for the development of issues related to the relationship between culture, economy and society of which he is Vice President. Since 2012 he has been a visiting professor at the IMT in Lucca for the phd Heritage Management and Development. He is in the management committee of the Global Consortium for Heritage Conservation founded by Yale University. After serving in various ministerial commissions at the MiBAC, in 2014 he was adviser to Minister Franceschini, in 2015 and 2016 member of the Higher Council of Cultural Heritage, in 2017 and 2018 Chairman of the commission for the assignment of Italian Capital of Culture, from 2017 member of the evaluation commission of the Italian Council for contemporary art of MiBAC. He also serves as a board member of the Museo Nazionale Pinacoteca Braidense, the Piccolo Teatro of Milan and the Ratti Foundation. After studying the history of the financial market in Italy, it has focused since the early 2000s on the study of the transformations of the systems of production and cultural exchange in the modern and contemporary age. Among his main publications “Stories of Casa Ricordi” published by Saggiatore in 2011 and “Cosmopolitan Canvases” with Olav Velthuis, published in 2015 for Oxford University press.
