Fabio Belloni

Fabio Belloni is an Italian art historian.
He completed his PhD in 2010 under the supervision of Flavio Fergonzi, with a dissertation on the relationship between art and politics in Italy, 1968-1978. Since that time, he has conducted post-doctoral research at Udine University. In 2006 he won the Darc-Maxxi Prize for Art History and Criticism, and in 2012 he won the Erminia Bretschneider Prize for the History of Art. He is the author of the monographs La mano decapitata. Transavanguardia tra disegno e citazione (Milan: Electa, 2008); Modigliani (Milan: Sole 24 ore, 2008); and Amore mio a Montepulciano nel 1970 (Milan: Scalpendi 2014). For his CIMA fellowship, Belloni is working on the fate of Depero’s reputation in the decades after his death in 1960, as well as on the relationship between art and politics in the case of Fabio Mauri.
