Benedetta Cocco

Benedetta Cocco (1997) lives and works between Cagliari and Venice.

She studied Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sassari and Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. She explores the trajectory of the meaning of time in relation to memory, culture, and interiority, examining how these concepts manifest in contemporary and social dimensions. Her recent research investigates the potential of textile craftsmanship as a symbolic generator of narratives: at times depicting human figures emerging with destructive violence; at other times portraying disjointed, heavy, knotted, and disfigured bodies, where what remains is the organic assembly of the most sincere and authentic interiority. Her work is the result of a long research process originally rooted in journeys that gather stories from people encountered in rural landscapes and large metropolitan contexts.
