Marcelo Brodsky
Marcelo Brodsky (b. 1954) is an Argentine artist and human rights activist based in Buenos Aires. Following the military coup in 1976, he was forced into exile in Barcelona, where he studied economics and photography. After returning to Argentina in 1984, he began “Buena Memoria”, a seminal body of work addressing collective memory and the legacy of the dictatorship.
Working across photography, installation, and public intervention, Brodsky combines text and image to explore memory, exile, and political violence. His work has been exhibited internationally at institutions including the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (Buenos Aires), Pinacoteca do Estado (São Paulo), and Sprengel Museum (Hannover).
Brodsky is a founding member of Asociación Buena Memoria and serves on the board of Parque de la Memoria in Buenos Aires. His work is held in major collections worldwide, including Tate (London), MFA Houston, and Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Argentina.
