Mohammed Abdullah Bulhiah
Born in Sharjah, 1953 and lives in Sharjah
Mohammed Abdullah Bulhiah is a natural sculptor whose spontaneous works are inspired by the local environment.
Mohammed Abdullah Bulhiah took part in a host of local and international artistic gatherings and exhibitions, such as: the UAE Fine Arts Society’s exhibitions between 1986-1993; Sharjah Biennials 1, 2 & 3 (1993, 199, 1997); the first GCC Fine Arts Exhibition (1989), and the Portraits exhibition, UAE Fine Arts Society (1995). Furthermore he participated in most of the local and international exhibitions organized by the Emirates Fine Arts Society during 1985-2000, in Egypt, Italy, India, Oman, Sudan, Spain, Moscow, Korea, Romania, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, France, Germany, Sydney, and Jordan.
During his career, he has received many artistic awards and accolades, including the first place in sculpture at the general exhibition of the Emirates Fine Arts Society, the sculpture award – professionals category, at the Emirates in the Eyes of its Artists Exhibition, the Cultural Foundation, Abu Dhabi.
The artist is also member of numerous cultural societies and organizations, including the Emirates Fine Arts Society, the GCC Art Friends Group, Al Jidar Fine Arts Group and Al Iyab Fine Arts Society.
Mohammed Abdullah Bulhiah is one of the artists representing the country at the UAE National Pavillion during the 56th Venice Biennale.
