Carlo Ratti
An architect and engineer by training, Carlo Ratti teaches at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Politecnico di Milano. He is director of the Senseable City Lab and founding partner of CRA-Carlo Ratti Associati. One of the ten most cited scholars in the field of urban planning, he co-authored over 750 publications, including the recent “Atlas of the Senseable City”. He co-chairs the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Cities and Urbanisation. His curatorial work has included the Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture and Design in Moscow, the BMW Guggenheim Pavilion in Berlin, Expo Milano 2015, UABB Shenzhen, Porto Design Biennial, and Manifesta 14. His work has been exhibited at MoMA in New York, La Biennale di Venezia, the Design Museum in Barcelona, the Science Museum in London, and MAXXI in Rome. Three of his projects have been featured in TIME’s annual list of the “Best Inventions of the Year”.
