Claribel Calderius is a Cuban artist known for her autobiographical and confessional work. Her artistic practice encompasses a wide range of media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, installation, video art and embroidery. Her works have been exhibited in shows in Mexico and Cuba, including “Todo Vuelve”, curated by José García at Salón Gallos; “AD Infinitum” at Arenal Habana, presented during the 2019 Havana Biennial and curated by Magda González-Mora; and “SocialSubjetiva”, curated by Andrés Isaac Santana in 2019 at the Ateneo de Madrid as part of the exhibitions held during PhotoEspaña.
Her professional experience includes participation in both solo and group exhibitions, focused on the exploration of autobiographical and confessional themes, the use of a variety of artistic media to express her personal vision and experiences, as well as a strong sense of collaboration with renowned curators in significant art events such as the Havana Biennial and PhotoEspaña.
