Dominga Sotomayor

Dominga Sotomayor (1985, Chile) finished her filmmaking studies in 2007 and started production company Cinestación. She directed several short films which received awards worldwide. Her first feature film project “De jueves a domingo/Thursday Till Sunday” (2012) participated in the Cannes Cinéfondation Résidence 2010 and was awarded a Tiger Award. The short film “La isla” (2013), which she co-directed with Katarzyna Klimkiewicz, won a Tiger Short Award at IFFR in 2014. Sotomayor won the Silver Leopard for Best Direction with her film “Tarde para morir joven/Too Late to Die Young” (2018). Many of her films were supported by the Hubert Bals Fund.
